1. Information we collect
Kaspar Padberg ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Spotly mobile application and website.
When you create an account, we collect account information such as name, email address, optional profile photo, authentication information, and user-generated content such as spots, comments, photos, and lists.
- With your permission, location data can be used for discovery, navigation, geofencing, visit notifications, and personalized place context.
- We may process usage, device, log, crash, and notification preference data to operate and improve Spotly.
2. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve Spotly.
- Show and recommend places, lists, and nearby context.
- Enable social features such as friends, sharing, comments, likes, and followed lists.
- Store photos, comments, spots, lists, and account settings.
- Provide support and prevent abuse.
3. Third-party services
Spotly uses Firebase for authentication, database storage, file storage, push notifications, and Cloud Functions. Spotly also uses Google Maps Platform for maps, place data, photos, geocoding, and navigation support.
Authentication may be provided through Google Sign-In, Apple Sign In, or email/password. These services are governed by their own privacy policies.
4. Location data
Location data is central to place discovery, navigation, geofencing, visit tracking, and location-based reminders.
Background location may be used for optional location-based notifications. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time, though some features may be limited.
5. Social features and public sharing
Spotly lets users connect with friends, share spots, comment, like, and create or share lists.
Information shared through these features is visible according to your privacy settings. Public web previews expose only data intended for unauthenticated visitors.
6. Data sharing, security, and retention
We may share data with service providers who help operate Spotly, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or with your consent. We do not sell personal information.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure.
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide Spotly and fulfill the purposes described here, unless deletion or legal retention requirements apply.
7. Your rights and account deletion
You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or withdrawal of consent where applicable.
You can delete your account in the Spotly app settings or by contacting support@heyspotly.com. Account deletion permanently removes profile data, spots, comments, photos, social connections, and location history, subject to limited backup or legal retention periods.
8. Children, transfers, changes, and contact
Spotly is not intended for children under 13. International processing may occur where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will update the "Last updated" date for material changes.
